Paulina Rubio booking
Paulina Rubio returns stronger than ever, both her personal and professional views renewed, without
losing the spark of creativity and artistic passion that made the Mexican artist internationally
recognized. Her new album called Brava! is clearly a tribute to the woman, in all her greatness and
potential. Brava! contains a large variety of current musical styles like dance, pop, rock, ranchera
(Mexican folk) and ballads. Particularly notable is the collaboration with Taboo (from The Black Eyed
Peas) in one of the songs. Brava! contains 10 songs; 7 in Spanish and 3 in English. The album was
recorded in Miami and Los Angeles with help from Nacho (Chino & Nacho), Red One, Julio Reyes
Copello and Marcela de la Garza. In addition, production included Alexander Casadiego, Andrés
Recio, Reyes Copello and Red One.
This is Paulina Rubio’s new album, the tenth of her career as a solo artist. A career in which she has
accumulated 20 million album sales, including diamond, platinum and gold discs. International awards,
front pages of some of the primary publications from around the world, cosmetics, a perfume, up to the
creation of her own tequila. Since the release in 2009 of Gran City Pop Paulina Rubio has collaborated
with Gloria Trevi and more recently with the Tigres del Norte in a special acoustic set for MTV with
‘Golpes en la corazón’; which was nominated for a Latin Grammy as ‘Best Recording of the Year’ This
defines Paulina Rubio at the moment: ‘The release of this disc has come at a time when I am at more
peace, I’m more mature. The loss of a great pillar of the family, the arrival of my son, have made me
understand more, especially the cycle of life and the important thing is that you enjoy it.’ The first track
on her album ‘Me gustas Tanto’ was composed by Paulina Rubio, Nacho from Chino & Nacho and
Andrés Recio; produced by the ‘King Midas’ of music, Red One, the author behind international mega
hits of artists like Lady Gaga, Jennifer López, Mohombi, Enrique Iglesias, Usher, Kelly Rowland, Mika
and Pitbull, amongst others. The track charted at number 1 on iTunes in Spain, Mexico and America.
She has obtained number 1 on Radio de España and Argentina.
The golden girl of Spanish pop strengthened her position as a music icon with her new work ‘Gran City
Pop’ which will be released for sale the 23rd June. Paulina Rubio, always a symbol of strength. A lively
woman, a hurricane of energy and sensuality, Paulina Rubio is already an international music icon
who rejects stereotypes and who gets carried away by her multiple day to day influences. Raised
between Mexico, Los Angeles and Spain, her spirit has always been one of independence. Paulina
started in music at an early age, under the wing of the group Timbiriche, but it was with ‘La Chica
Dorada’ that her solo career took off. Her first success was quick to follow. And with ‘Paulina’ (2000),
she was crowned as the queen of Latin pop, selling more than 3 million copies worldwide, and was
nominated as the Best Latin Female Artist in the 2001 Grammy Awards. Her north-American side did
not take long to flourish and ‘Border Girl’ was her Anglo-Saxon consolidation, displaying all the
influences from her life. But where we can really see the fusion of these events present in the life and
work of Paulina was with her work ‘Pau-Latina’ in 2004. ‘It was a musical workshop’ says the artist, a
record full of collaborations and experiments. It was a golden year for the ‘Chica Dorada’, which
resulted in her being the biggest selling Latin American female artist in 2004.
In 2006 she brought us another brilliant album: ‘Ananda’. Without a doubt, the most autobiographical
of her works, and with which she has participated in the most, being part of every stage of the creative
process. ‘Ananda’ is the other success of Paulina’s career, still being the record that received platinum
physical sales, and the first single, ‘Ni Una Sola Palabra’ (the winner of a Latin Billboard Award),
received a multi-platinum certificate. And finally, in 2009 she brought us her new work: ‘Gran City Pop’,
an imagined mega-city in which Paulina collected into one vision; some of her life and musical
experiences, experienced in the last few years in various cities across the world. Experiences that
have marked her life and which she wants to share in the form of 10 songs, filled with influences that
enrich this new stage in her career. On the album she collaborates with Estéfano, Chris Rodríguez,
Cachorro López, Lester Méndez and Coti.Paulina Susana Rubio Dosamantes, born in Mexico City on the 17th June 1971, is a singer, actor,
driver, model and Mexican business woman who has sold over 20 million discs around the world
throughout her recording career (until 2010). She is the daughter of the Mexican actor Susana
Dosamantes and of a lawyer of Spanish ancestry Enrique Rubio († 2011), and she has an older
brother. On the 30th of April 2007, she married the Spanish businessman Nicolás Vallejo-Nájera
‘Colate’. 3 years afterwards, the 14th November 2010 the singer gave light to her first son, whom they
named Andrea Nicolás Vallejo-Nágera Rubio.
Paulina Rubio became known in her native country with the youth group Timbiriche in 1981, and the
group separated in 1991, after having recorded 10 studio albums. She started her solo career in the
90s with the label EMI, with whom she recorded 4 studio albums. Of these, the two first ones ‘La Chica
Dorada’ (1992) and 24 Kilates (1993) put her as one of the most commercially successful young
singers in her native country. Her following productions, El Tiempo Es Oro (1995) and Planeta Paulina
(1996) made her recognized in other Latin American countries. After a legal issue with EMI Music, the
singer rejected the contract, paying a large amount of money involved. Despite this, in the first decade
of the 21st century she obtained a new contract with Universal Music Group. With a new step, the
singer released her 5th and 6th albums, Paulina (200) and Border Girl (2002), with those she had
commercial success in Latin America and certain parts of Europe; the first of these discs was awarded
awards, nominations and sales. According to the Revista Billboard the disc was placed as the most
sold Latin album in the United States in 2001 and it received a double diamond disc for more than 2.5
million units sold around the world. Paulina and Border Girl have sold more than 7,000,000 and
5,000,000 respectively. Her successive albums, Pau-Latina (2004) and Ananda (2006) strengthened
Paulina’s place internationally, marking her success with every single sold. Later on, her newest and
last piece of work, for the moment, Gran City Pop (2009) meant she arrived at a concept that is
fresher, more original and that focuses on a single vision, that reflects the life and musical experiences
of the singer.
For their part, some of the singles that have marked her musical career are ‘Mío’, ‘Enomarada’, ‘El
ultimo adíos’, ‘Y yo sigo aquí’, ‘Don’t say goodbye’, ‘Baila Casanova’, ‘Te quise tanto’, ‘Ni una sola
palabra’ y ‘Causa y Efecto’. From 35 official singles, 14 of those were at the top of the popularity lists
in Mexico. One of the biggest successes that Paulina has had; ‘Y yo sigo aquí’, was placed at the top
of the charts in over 30 countries. Another of hers; ‘Ni Una Sola Palabra’ went triple platinum in Spain.
Paulina Rubio is considered one of the most influential Latin celebrities. According to E!
Entertainment, the singer placed number 12 on the 25 Sexiest Pop Divas.
